Hisako had had a restless night, in too much pain to rest properly, not to mention feeling slightly ill from it all. After getting home she'd found her window locked again so had ended up having to sneak into her brothers room luckily his window had not been properly locked. Once inside she was careful to sneak to her room and grab her usual clothes where she quickly washed her dress in the ensuite, then spending most of the time washing blood from her AT's other than her flesh. She'd had to rush to get changed, leaving her dress in the sink; she barely managed to get back out of the house (again via her brothers window) without getting caught so she had hardly dabbed her wounds, never mind wash them.
When morning came however, she was able to pretty much ignore all the pain except that from her neck, and all bleeding had stopped although areas of flesh still threatened to rip open again at any wrong movement. Her neck still ached like a bitch as she clutched at the throbbing pain, skating slowly for once as she went to meet her team damn. She'd forgotten they'd agreed to meet up for practice today; although it was also a good thing, better that than try and apply for jobs with the state she was in. It seemed she would unfortunately be delayed a little while in paying Giryuu back. Even worse she couldn't even think straight; both from pain and a now severe lack of sleep, but she couldn't afford any distractions when it came to training. She let go of her neck as she turned the corner and stopped in front of the team head down a little unlike usual; a desperate attempt to shadow her neck.
"About time you got here." her team mate said, arms folded in a way as if he was hugging himself.
"Shut up. I'm here aren't I." she looked around a little before looking up into the face of the teams leader, Yao.
He couldn't help but notice the many scratches and tears on her jacket, and then a great patch of purple.
"What's that on your neck?" he asked.
"Nothing." she kept her voice calm but awkwardly turned her head to the left slightly as if to hide it.
He stepped forward and had a closer look, Hisako tensed but tensing only increased the strong pain from the damaged muscle tissue, causing her to wince. The whole left side of her neck was covered with a purple bruising and in the centre of that was the burgundy bite mark with the smaller dents from the fangs.
"Out with someone last night, were we?"
"It's not like that!" she barked angrily, moving her hair a little despite the fact that it didn't hide anything. She didn't want to tell them anything, and it's not like any of it mattered anyway but she still didn't want them to get the wrong idea never mind the right one.
He next held the torn piece of jacket on her left arm between two fingers, hanging by hardly any thread it really was quite damaged.
"Idiot...You were running weren't you, little thunder."
She violently smacked his hand away.
"I've fucking told you not to call me that!" she could feel the rage inside her and took the moment to force herself to calm, chest heaving slightly. She felt funny, a bad funny. She felt woozy and sickly, and couldn't help but feel the small amount of blood running down her ankle as the flesh had torn itself again during her skate over to them.
"Alright. We'll get you a new coat, until then wear a temp. Let's go."
Get her a new coat, that wouldn't be cheap her coat was more modified than any of the others outfits too so it wasn't just the price of the fabric to worry about...
He skated away as the other girl in her team, Yokino, handed her a temporary replacement jacket. In the removing of the damaged coat, Yoko could see more of the damage that had been created; all the scratches, scrapes, bruises and some small cuts but the neck bruising was really something. If not for the neck bruising she'd have taken it as a simple goof-up whilst Hisako was being reckless on a run, but her neck made it look more like an abusive relationship or some form of either sexual or just physical assault. Yoko hoped this was not the case; to be honest it kind of annoyed her that someone may have done that. It annoyed her almost as much as the fact that Hisako had gotten herself into that state; and was she seriously the only one that gave a damn about Hisako's bleeding ankle?!?
Hisako moved her hair slightly and adjusted the collar in an attempt to shadow her neck a little though it didn't do much when the coat was at least a size too big for her. The two followed the rest of their team.
Upon reaching their destination the two girls stopped alongside the rest of Team Night Stalkers. Hisako looked around at the many people skating around and across the park seemed a lot of people were out practising today; that was kinda unusual.
"Alright team. There's rumour of a big competition coming up, so we're here to get a look at the manoeuvres and tactics of other teams," Yao began, putting his hands on his hips, "As well as carry out our own practice without giving too much of our own away."
They nodded in understanding at Yao's somewhat obvious and maybe even slightly confusing statement and for a moment, time had slowed down for Hisako. Not too far off, to the right side behind Yao, was Agito. Skating by, impassively calm expression and looking back at her. He blinked once and skated on. She swallowed hard.
Yokino had noticed Hisako's swallowing, and also how the speed of Hisa's chest heaving had greatly increased. She never knew Hisako to get worked up like this what could be going on? Looking about she saw no hints, so as the others skated away she just continued to look at her.
"What was that about?"
"What was what about?" Hisako looked at her, still trying to relax but there was a tingling clench in her gut that just wouldn't let go.
Yoko shook her head. "You know what I'm on about! The fact that you-" she cut herself off, noticing the slight look of despair in her friends eyes, "
Nothing. Forget it." she turned away and skated off like the others, but she couldn't help but wonder; 'You saw the one that did that to you, didn't you
' she worried for her friend; but more so, she wanted to do something about it.
Hisako forced small breaths so as to even herself out again and after a while she managed to ease out a bit, she let out a sigh of relief.
"Why the heck was that so hard?" she asked herself aloud, gripping slightly at the front of her top, over the area where her diaphragm was located she could still feel the tingles but she may just be able to ignore them. She looked about at all the many people practising you could pretty much guess the classes, and beginners stood out a mile away. One thing she did wonder though was why was everyone in this park to practice; wouldn't it make more sense for them all to go off to their own territorial spots? Was this a designated training area for this possible competition or something? Weird
She gave a deep breathe out, she didn't feel like practising, but she had to continue to push herself no matter what if she planned to one day reach her goals
so she'd just have to try
even if focus still eluded her
